Movavi celebrates its fifth anniversary this month. From its inception in 2004 in Novosibirsk, the company has continually expanded and improved upon its line of products, at the same time actively developing universally accessible online multimedia services.
Movavi journey began in 2004 when a group of programmers and video enthusiasts began collaborating over the Internet in the creation of powerful, yet easy-to-use software for the fast-growing digital video marketplace. The company opened its first office in Novosibirsk in 2006, and followed with a second office in Moscow at the end of 2008. Today the company employs 23 people in development, marketing, sales, and administration, and has millions of satisfied customers around the world.
Movavi first product, Video Converter, is now in its eighth version and has been join by ten other products. The latest development, Movavi Media Octopus, adds an organizational element to the company’s offerings by providing a simple way to safeguard and manage video content on popular media devices such as mobile console PSPs and iPods. Video Converter remains Movavi’s flagship product, today delivering the most advanced solution for audio and video processing available to amateur videographers.
Universal package Movavi VideoSuite is an easy-to-use solution for all issues connected with processing of media files - from capturing records from the digital VCR to uploading a completed and converted video to the portable device or burn media to DVDs. In the end of May 2009 Movavi VideoSuite has been updated to version 7.0, implementing possibilities of Movavi Media Octopus and expanding support of online video hostings.
Movavi launched the online.movavi.com service in 2007 to serve a growing demand for basic video processing capabilities in support of user-generated video web content. The company’s developers continue to add new functions and capabilities, ensuring that the online service supports most of the same devices, parameters, and formats as the commercial products. The level of interest from users confirms the success of the service since Online.movavi.com was first launched, close to a million operations have been performed.
“Our mission has always been to make multimedia processing as easy and intuitive as making a cup of coffee,” says Natalia Khudyakova, Movavi CEO. “We will continue to develop simple, functional programs and services to help users work with video, audio and images regardless of source or carrier, whether it be mobile device, digital camera, news site or favourite blog!”
Despite the recent economic downturn, Movavi recorded 30% year on year growth from 2007 to 2008, and preliminary results for the first two quarters of 2009 show a 100% growth in domestic (Russian) market sales. Sales in Europe and the US are holding steady. The total number of Movavi Video Suite and Movavi Video Converter licenses sold in 2008 exceeded 2.3 million copies, and the company is forecasting sales close to three million licenses in 2009.
Looking forward to 2010, Movavi plans to add products for Mac OS X, further development of the online.movavi.com service, and expansion of products designed for multimedia support, initially in the areas of images and audio. The company also expects to expand its export efforts in Europe and Asia with additional language and device format support. • 9-6-09Satellite communications: visit Altobridge website.
