Carriers World 2008

Compelling presentation of Comarch

Comarch led a presentation on “Following Market Changes and Regulations”, during the Carriers World Conference in London, United Kingdom on September 24th.

On the 2nd day of the event, Comarch BSS Consulting Manager, Tymoteusz Wrona, presented an interesting case study on market changes and regulations. The focus points of his lecture were interconnection, revenue sharing and partner-to-partner billing - the areas in which the vendors can find changes in approaches to the way agreements are constructed. This includes transforming the business supporting software.

The presentation highlighted two important decisions that Telco operators must make today: Virtual POI for Mobile Virtual Network Operators in the context of reporting features for SP/MVNO agreements, and Partner Management that allows management of the rapidly increasing number of data, agreements and SLAs.

To follow the changes that occur within the telecoms industry, one must be prepared prior to their occurrence. This simple rule affects companies in many areas and it requires time and effort to be ready before, not during the change. Thus from the perspective of a telecommunications software vendor, it is crucial for the operators to invest wisely in their own portfolio of solutions” - quotes Tymoteusz Wrona, BSS Consulting Manager at Comarch SA.

The 14th edition of the Carriers World conference provided the premier networking arena for companies offering a broad range of innovative telecommunications products and services to licensed international carriers, ISP’s and other telecommunications companies.

Since 1993, Comarch’s Telecommunications Sector has been specializing in designing, implementing and integrating solutions and services for telecommunications operators. Experience gained throughout this period, in addition to its knowledge of the latest industry trends, allows the company to flexibly adapt itself to the needs and expectations of every client. Comarch’s widely developed operations, both in Poland and abroad is the strongest confirmation yet of its evidently high-quality solutions in the areas of billing, inter-partner settlements, and the management of telecommunications networks, services and value-added services. The telecommunications business unit offer is primarily addressed to fixed, mobile and VoIP operators, cable TV networks, internet service providers and MVNO operators. •

Jinny Signs Exclusive Partnership with MCN to Drive Rapid Mobile Advertising Growth throughout the MEA Region

Jinny selected as vendor of choice by leading Middle Eastern Ad Agency for its mobile advertising solution to support operators, advertisers, and agencies to deliver tailored advertising

Jinny Software, a leading provider of personalised messaging and media solutions to the mobile industry, today announced it has signed an exclusive partnership agreement with leading Dubai-based communications company, MCN Holding, one of the Middle East‚s top full-service advertising, marketing and media groups, with numerous affiliates and subsidiaries throughout the Middle East and Africa.

Under the terms of the deal, MCN will work exclusively with Jinny and its Advertising Engine when it seeks to buy mobile network advertising space on behalf of its many clients. This will apply to SMS, MMS or other emerging messaging-based advertising methods for which the Jinny solution is ideally suited.

As a pioneer and market leader in mobile advertising solutions, Jinny Software will, in turn, utilise the expertise of MCN as it seeks to deliver guidance and overall direction on mobile advertising to both its huge customer base as well as new clients throughout the region.

Oussama Jamal, Vice President of MCN Media, said, “The use of mobile communications for the delivery of targeted and effective advertising campaigns will grow rapidly and is likely to become one of the most important media of the 21st Century. Our agreement with Jinny Software will make mobile advertising easier for operators and advertisers.  Jinny‚s technology allows us to go directly to our target audience, but, more importantly, allows us to show our clients exactly who has responded to a campaign, in real-time, something which has not existed in the industry before now.”

Jamal added, “Coupled with complementary campaigns in other media such as TV, Radio, Internet or Print, this allows us to offer something completely new to our clients.  MCN has extensive experience in managing multiple media channels for a wide variety of high profile advertising clients and Jinny has a proven track record delivering tailored messaging and filtering solutions to operators all over the world.  Together we can connect the operators to the advertisers.”

Built on Jinny‚s proven technologies in messaging and filtering, the Advertising Engine has the power to deliver tailored advertising in a variety of ways. Advertisements can be inserted into any type of peer-to-peer messaging traffic, in real-time, and with sophisticated internal algorithms the solution ensures that the advert is relevant and useful to its audience. Employing easy-to-use tools to allow advertisers to deliver tailored advertising, the Advertising Engine makes it easy for advertisers to send their messages to a large number of targeted consumers via mobile networks.

Commenting on the alliance, Declan O‚Mahony, Chief Commercial Officer of Jinny Software, said, “It is clear that in the early stages of this new business model for advertisement delivery, strategic partnerships are going to be crucial. Mobile operators have not had a lot of experience selling their multiple media channels to advertisers and, with this agreement, MCN and Jinny can assist in bridging the gap between the advertisers and mobile operators.”

O‚Mahony added, “Combining Jinny‚s global customer base of almost 60 mobile operators worldwide, with MCN‚s position as the largest buying group in the Middle East and Africa, both companies have the technology and the footprint to make this partnership a huge success.  Through this, Jinny will be able to bring mobile advertising to operators throughout the Middle East and Africa and MCN will be able to bring the advertisers to the mobile subscribers, increasing ARPU for mobile operators in the process.  It really is that simple.”

Jinny enables network operators to deliver compelling personalised messaging and media processing platforms to subscribers that add value and increase operator revenues. The Jinny product range, built to open standards, is designed to drive converged messaging revenues. Jinny‚s Messaging, Media Processing, Filtering & Routing and Rating & Charging platforms give operators the opportunity to create innovative solutions tailored to the personal needs of their customers.

Jinny Software operates from its headquarters in Dublin, Ireland, and regional headquarters in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with sales and support offices in Rome, Rio de Janeiro and Kuala Lumpur. Jinny Software is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Acotel Group S.p.A, headquartered in Rome, Italy and traded on the Milan stock market (ACO.MI).

With its Head Office in Dubai, UAE, MCN is the Middle East‚s largest advertising marketing and media agency network with 68 offices and over 1,650 people. MCN owns and manages several key agency brands including flagship Fortune Promoseven, Lowe & Universal Media, amongst others.

MCN is headed by Fadi Salameh, President and CEO, of IPG Middle East. Peter Davies, is the Chief Operating Officer and Mohamad Haidar is the CFO. MCN is part of the Inter Public Group (IPG) ˆ the world's leading advertising agency network.

SEAsiaCom 08 - Local Connectivity

A Major Value Proposition for South East Asia

Altobridge Remote Communications, Mobile Network Operator Reference Sites Expanding in the Region, e.g. Maxis and MobiCom • Local Connectivity  and Split-BSC Architecture solutions cut Transmission Costs providing World‚s Most Cost-effective Solution Available

Deploying strong value propositions in each south east Asian country‚ is one of the key messages behind this year‚s SE AsiaCom in Kuala Lumpur. Leading wireless application solution provider, Altobridge, has one of the strongest value propositions for operators throughout the region ˆ its Local Connectivity solution combined with its Split-BSC Architecture.

Altobridge is currently working in partnership with operators Maxis, in Malaysia, and MobiCom, in Mongolia, to deliver cost-effective rural communications to isolated public and enterprise communities. The Local Connectivity solution and the Split-BSC Architecture offer operators two outstanding opportunities:

Regional Manager for Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Peter Tuomey, will be presenting an important paper at the 23 July event, entitled: “Reducing the cost of transmission: A Major Value Proposition for South East Asia. This paper illustrates how these two technological breakthroughs in Local Connectivity and on-demand use of satellite bandwidth can be combined to deliver the world‚s most cost-effective solution for remote communities.

The paper will look at the challenges facing operators in remote regions throughout Asia, including the high cost of transmission to isolated communities, which remains the biggest barrier to the provision of services. But Tuomey‚s paper will not simply present the audience with the problem, it will offer a breakthrough solution using the combined power of Altobridge‚s unique, patented Split-BSC Architecture and its Local Connectivity solution, which deliver a powerful, cost-effective means of providing profitable communications services to even the smallest, isolated populations.

Altobridge CEO, Mike Fitzgerald said, “Our Local Connectivity solution keeps local traffic local removing the cost of traffic being backhauled unnecessarily across the network, and this is achieved without impacting the standard signaling protocols of the core network. Then, with our Split-BSC Architecture, we take the core network element that controls base stations and we split it, creating a unique on-demand‚ solution, which is the most operationally efficient on the market today.”

When we combine these two breakthrough technologies, MNOs can benefit from the most operationally efficient communications solution for remote communities currently available, particularly for smaller locations of between 50 and 500 subscribers”, Fitzgerald concluded.

Altobridge technology is already at the heart of the world‚s first cost-effective mobile phone system for commercial aircraft, launched recently by AeroMobile and flying initially with Emirates and Qantas. The company‚s solution to provide standard, cost-effective mobile communications to the world‚s merchant maritime industry is also available today from Blue Ocean Wireless. Both use versions of the Split-BSC architecture in these high-profile, proven applications.
