Color toner with less toxic substances

This colour toner comes complete with its own environmental certificate: TBS Printware Vertriebs GmbH is presenting a product at CeBIT 2008 whose level of toxic substances remains well below the legal limit. As a result, its color toner has received the Bavarian “LGA-tested” low-pollution seal. According to the manufacturer, this is the first low-pollutant toner product available for color laser printers.

The toner modules are designed for use with several different Hewlett Packard printer models. The cartridges have been tested for toxic substances like benzene, styrene and heavy metals with respect to materials and emissions.

Entire music and image collections on a single card

High-resolution digital cameras and other multimedia devices are demanding ever faster and bigger storage cards. AnMOS Technology Corp. has reacted to these requirements by developing a Secure Digital High Capacity Card (SDHC) with a capacity of 16 GB and a data transfer rate of 120x (i.e. 120 times 150 kB/s). The write speed is at least 6 MB per second.

The card’s high storage capacity means it can be used to store entire collections of MP3 music or digital images. It measures 32 x 24 x 2.1 mm and, according to the manufacturer, is compatible with the SD 2.0 standard. Boasting a lifetime warranty, the card also has built-in Error Correction Code (ECC) for automatic error recognition and rectification.

High-quality digital signage

Digital advertising displays or traffic signs — so-called “digital signage” — are becoming ever more prevalent at airports, train stations and along roadways. At the upcoming CeBIT, Digital Green-Box Technology Co. Ltd. will be presenting an entire family of products that can receive and transmit digital signals to a number of different devices without any reduction in quality levels.

High quality is required if projections are to stay crystal clear. The products featured at CeBIT support a resolution of 1,080 pixels at a distance of up to 80 meters. Each box can be used for up to 16 displays and comes with a built-in equalizer allowing you to fine-tune the video quality.

Brilliant images from four different sources

Hook up four different devices to a single machine, then display the digital images from any of them on a monitor or projection screen. The “HDMI Switch Box” box being presented by CeBIT exhibitor Green-Box Technology Co. Ltd. has input ports for four different devices — for example a PC, DVD player, video game console or satellite receiver.

The user can program the images to appear in a particular sequence, with the box switching back and forth between the various input devices automatically, or determine the sequence manually by remote control. The HDMI Switch Box is intended for use in conference rooms, stores and businesses as well as the high-end home entertainment segment.

Long transmission range with no loss in quality

Long distances between source and display usually result in a loss of quality. But at CeBIT 2008 a company will be presenting its new HDMI equalizer, which can compensate for these losses. This equalizer comes in where a standard transmission cable is not long enough: the user plugs the equalizer cable into the source device — either a DVD player or PC ,then use the standard cable to connect the equalizer with the output device.

The equalizer allows the user to connect over a distance of up to 75 meters: the cable connecting the input device with the equalizer can be up to 55 meters long and the cable connecting the equalizer with the HDMI display can be another 20 meters long. Even at the full 75 meters, a video resolution of full 1,080 pixels is guaranteed.
