Almaty - 3-6 September 2008

15th Anniversary Kazakhstan International Exhibition Construction and Interiors, Windows, Doors & Facades, Ceramics & Stone

This year, the major domestic exhibition for builders – KazBuild – celebrates its 15th anniversary. On 3-6 September 2008, all available pavilions at the Atakent Exhibition Centre in Almaty will be used for the construction exhibition. Kaz Build 2008 is going to have a lot of exhibitors: about 500 companies from 25 countries. In 1994, Kaz Build exhibition presented 42 exhibitors and occupied just a small part of one pavilion.

Over these 15 years, about 3,000 companies have taken part in Kaz Build, with affiliates, joint ventures and new firms established. Exhibitors of the very first exhibition included only foreign companies, and now about a half of them are local businesses.

There is every reason to believe that Kaz Build, set up according to the world standards, has become a progenitor of the construction expo business in the country and a paragon for many exhibitions held by Iteca and other local companies. Annually, Iteca holds 11 construction exhibitions in Almaty, Astana, Atyrau, Aktau, Karaganda, and Bishkek. Next year, it is going to launch one more regional project in Shymkent. The exhibition is becoming a standard of not only new technologies and demonstration of innovations but also a field for discussions and finding competitive advantages,” said Nailya Sermukhamedova, Director, Construction Exhibitions Division for Central Asia, Iteca.

Every year, the calendar of construction-related events is being augmented with regional and specialised projects. Heat&Vent Plus and WinTec Expo Kazakhstan are worth special mentioning as they have grown from Kaz Build sections. This year, Heat&Vent Plus, an exhibition of heating and ventilation, air conditioning, water supply and sanitary ware, will bring together more than 100 companies and be conveniently located beside Kaz Build exhibition.

WinTec Expo Kazakhstan is an independent project on the window and door industry, held simultaneously with KazBuild Spring. There is a notable trend towards specialised projects. Some companies that had earlier exhibited at the Windows&Door Section of Kaz Build held in autumn now choose to take part in the specialised autumn project, WinTec Expo Kazakhstan. In 2009, this exhibition project will include a conference on the window, door and glass industry.

MARMOMACCHINE, a big Italian association of enterprises manufacturing equipment for stone production and processing, will be a first-timer at the exhibition. The association’s stand will present 13 manufacturing companies. Presentations by recognised leaders in this area are especially important for Kazakhstan as the country has significant reserves of non-metallic building materials.

For Kaz Build 2008 visitors’ convenience, there are four basic sections: “Construction”, “Interiors”, “Windows, Doors and Facades”, “Ceramics and Stone”. Prior to the event, the organisers will publish free attachments to the exhibition catalogue, the Exhibition Guidebook and the New Items Catalogue, with the list of world and local know-hows and innovations to be introduced by the exhibitors. Another new feature is that beginning with this year, the catalogue will be split into sections.

The exhibitions are organised by the Kazakhstan exhibition company Iteca and its international partners: ITE Group Plc (UK), GIMA (Germany), EUF A.S. (Turkey), and Invernizzi International Sales S.r.l. (Italy).

The Committee for Construction and Housing Utilities under the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Kazakhstan, Almaty City Akimat, Kazakhstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Kazakhstan Union of Architects provide official support for KazBuild 2008.

Celebrating its anniversary, Kaz Build follows the well-developed traditions formed within its last 15 years. The key goal of the project is international co-operation, execution of contracts, and an exchange of opinions, technologies and services.
